Influenza continues to affect a large number of people resulting in many deaths throughout the world. Vaccination against influenza virus is the most important strategy to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with influenza. We studied the knowledge and practice of influenza vaccination among 100 health workers and 98 elementary school teachers. The survey was conducted in November, 2003, using a self-administered questionnaire. The proportion of influenza vaccination was high, with 91% among health workers and 21% among teachers. In contrast, knowledge about influenza was insufficient An many aspects, particularly about who should be vaccinated. More efforts on education are necessary for an effective and targeted vaccination program, in order to prevent Influenza and promote health. Also it will reduce medical cost induced by unnecessary Influenza vaccination.
